How To Maintain a Vehicle You Don’t Use Often

Performing preventive maintenance is essential in owning a vehicle. But what about for vehicles that are not used often – those that are being stored for a part of the year? Here are some car maintenance tips when you store your vehicle for a month or more.

  1. Fill Up Your Gas Tank

    • This will keep the fuel tank from rusting. Also, make sure that it is properly sealed.
  2. Inflate the Tires

    • Make sure the tires are properly inflated to prevent cracking of sidewalls and flat spots.
  3. Change Oil and Filters

    • Put fresh oil and filters to remove metal fillings, sludge, and other corrosive elements.
  4. Remove the Battery

    • Store the battery in a cool, dry place. Make sure that it is fully charged.
  5. Park Indoors or Keep the Car Covered
