Performing preventive maintenance is essential in owning a vehicle. But what about for vehicles that are not used often – those that are being stored for a part of the year? Here are some car maintenance tips when you store your vehicle for a month or more.
Fill Up Your Gas Tank
- This will keep the fuel tank from rusting. Also, make sure that it is properly sealed.
Inflate the Tires
- Make sure the tires are properly inflated to prevent cracking of sidewalls and flat spots.
Change Oil and Filters
- Put fresh oil and filters to remove metal fillings, sludge, and other corrosive elements.
Remove the Battery
- Store the battery in a cool, dry place. Make sure that it is fully charged.
